Red River Guide Channel catfish in the Red River can attain weights of more than 30 pounds walleye as big as 13 pounds and northern pike can grow as long as 45 inches. The smaller pond is reserved for children and handicapped anglers while the larger pond is open to the general public.

Individuals fishing the Red River andor the Bois de Sioux River on the shoreline must have a valid fishing license from the state in which they are fishing. Between town and the Upper Valley is a 1-mile section designated Special Trout Waters. To combat the spread of invasive zebra mussels the law requires draining of water from boats and onboard receptacles when leaving or approaching public fresh waters.
